Originally founded in 1942 by Alex Angelo as Alex's Shell Beach Inn. Today Alex's continues in the same tradition with spirited service, generous portions, and friendly atmosphere. Alex's features an oak pit Bar-B-Q where tri-tip steak, ribs, halibut, salmon, and other local favorites are grilled over red oak-wood fire. No charcoal or gas grills here. Alex's Bar-B-Q sauce is the same concoction first mixed up by Alex more than 60 years ago. The steaks are still hand cut. Everything is made from scratch. Many of the wines are made right here on the California Central Coast. Alex's lunch hours are 11:30 through 3:30 daily, Dinner hours are Sunday through Thursday 3:30 - 9:00, Friday & Saturday Until 10:00 with a daily Early Bird Menu from 3:30 to 6:00

A remodeled motel coffee shop that retains its funky feel, Bon Temps serves Creole food at near coffee shop prices. The Cajun popcorn (shrimp) is exemplary, as is the bowl of gumbo ya-ya with chunks of chicken and andouille sausage. The fried catfish with hush puppies is one of the melt-in-your-mouth variety, and a number of étouffées are offered nightly, including alligator! Don’t forget the sides of red beans and rice, plus a couple of Dixie beers to wash everything down. Breakfast is served from 7am to 2pm daily. Lunch is from 11am to 2pm weekdays and Noon to 2pm on weekends. Dinner hours are 5pm to 9pm daily

Tio Alberto's was established in 1989. Originally called Tacos Acapulco, Tio's original menu included only a handful of items. Tio opened on a small budget with the help of his friends, without an opening date or an advertising campaign. The word quickly got out that there was a new taqueria in town that was serving the best tacos and burritos in San Luis Obispo. Tio would open at 11:00 am every morning and close at 2:00 or 3:00 am daily. Tio Alberto's has always offered the finest ingrediants, locally grown produce and salsa made from scratch in the authentic style old mexico. We never have used trans-fatty oils in our cooking ; we cook with olive oil for the benefit of everyones health, including Tio himself. You see Tio and his family eat here too. Twenty years later, Tio still comes into the restaraunt daily and visits with his local patrons, to whom he is very thankful. Tio promises to continue serving the best, most authentic mexican food possible.
